Blessing 32: God's Love

Seeing that February is all about Valentines Day and love, I thought I would make some of my thankful post about love.

The first being God's love for us. I think it is hard for us to even wrap our minds around just how much God loves us, but to me the one true, most purest forms of that love he showed us was through His son Jesus.
God wanted his creation to understand Him, to know Him and to love Him. But his creation has turned their backs on him, committed sin and had done evil. In sending Jesus to us, it was a way for us to see what God like, to learn how to be better, how to love each other, how to serve each other and most importantly how we can forever be with God.

Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross for all us, he took on all of our past, present and future sin, he hung there in pain and in agony so that those of us who chose to believe He is the one and only son of God could then spend eternity with Him in heaven.

We can say we believe in God and that we love God, but unless we 100% believe that God sent His son for us and that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the light, then we cannot and will not enter heaven's gates.

I am so thankful and blessed that 1. God loves me this much, 2. Jesus was will to take on it all for me 3. that I know beyond any doubt where I will be spending eternity.

For God so loved the world, that he gave is one and only son and whoever believes in Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Side note on John 3:16: I read the other day that when Tim Tebow had John 3:16 under his eyes for one of his games that over 92 million people googled John 3:16. That is pretty amazing to me that 92 million people read this verse for the first time, but what is even more amazing or maybe even scary is that there was 92 million people who had to google this to know what it was. To me this is a pretty known bible verse, even for those who don't go to church or maybe haven't even really heard much of the bible. It just goes to so how many people still need to heard about God's love.
