Five years ago today God made our family complete by given us our 2nd most precious gift a tiny little Breanna. I call her munchkin all the time, because she has always been tiny..she is the lightweight of the family that is for sure, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in personality because she has lots of that.
Bree is so special in so many ways, but I know that she has a heart of love. Everyone that gets to know her says, she is so sweet and loves to love on everyone. Everyday at her preschool she goes in and gives all the teacher hugs. :) Everyday, I get numerous hugs and kisses from her. Her heart to love and her ability to make me laugh is truly her gifts in life. When she is happy she is full of so much joy, but on the other hand when she is not happy...well...let's just say she has a strong will to let you know she is not happy.
She is getting so smart and is learning so much in preschool. She can write most of her numbers, her full name, she loves to draw, play with Katie or anyone for that matter, she loves books and games. She is now very, very excited that she will soon be a Kindergartner. Me on the other hand...not quite ready for that but with prayer I am know God will get me there.
Happy Birthday sweet Bree! We are so thankful to be your mommy and daddy and couldn't imagine life without you smile, hugs or kisses.
"Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first greatest commandment. An the second is like it: Love your neighbor as your self" Matthew 22:37-39. "Do everything in love" 1 Corinthians 16:14

Blessing 37: Kateyln Grace
Today is my oldest birthday and so my thankful post must be about her. She turned 7 today which in many ways seems to have gotten her so fast but in others it has seemed like a long road. One thing for sure is that by this time on 2/22/05...we were holding this little girl in our arms and completely in love with her.
Katie has been a blesssing to us in so many ways. She is so full of life, creative, imaginative, loves to laugh and make others laugh, she has mood swings like the wind but what girl doesn't, she has a big heart and feels compassion for others, she is smart, a great reader, loves to go to flea markets (just like her daddy), will try just about any food you give her, she is a great big sister, a wonderful daughter and she gives great back rubs.
I honestly couldn't imagine life without her, I am so thankful that God chose us to be her parents and that we have had 7 wonderful years with her and God willing many more.

Blessing 36: Learning How to Love
Love in my opinion is not just a word, but really only shown by actions. If our actions reflect love then the word doesn't need to be used....but it is nice to hear. :)
We are given the perfect description of what love is...given, this verse is somewhat over used as a reference to love but if you really want to understand and love others and know how God truly loves us....here it is.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Blessing 35: Psalm 103
I guess I could just say that overall the bible is a blessing to me, but my favorite thing about reading the bible is how a verse, a passage can all of the sudden stand out or fill my heart with so much love,excitement, encouragement....it is God revealing Himself to me when I need it most. Tonight, this psalm made see just how much our heavenly Father loves me, unfailing everyday.
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD;
may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! The LORD gives righteousness
and justice to all who are treated unfairly. He revealed his character to Moses
and his deeds to the people of Israel. The LORD is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west. The LORD is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—
as though we had never been here. But the love of the LORD remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments! The LORD has made the heavens his throne;
from there he rules over everything. Praise the LORD, you angels,
you mighty ones who carry out his plans,
listening for each of his commands. Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels
who serve him and do his will! Praise the LORD, everything he has created,
everything in all his kingdom.
Let all that I am praise the LORD. (Psalm 103:1-22 NLT)

Blessing 34: Special Days
On Saturday I got to spend the day with both my girls. We had a fun day in Wilmington shopping, eating and just spending time together. As they get older I realize these type of days will be few and far between, but I am grateful for the time now. I hope I don't forget these memories or that they don't either.
Life gets very hectic with school, work, and extra activites that it seems are days are just sucked dry of "fun". We become all about what we have to do next. On Saturday I realized we need to have more of these days and just let everything else go. I don't want to waste the time I do have with them.

Blessing 33: Importance of Love
The Bible speaks about the importance of love numerous times. We are called to love everyone not just those who make it easy. When we learn or at least try to love as God loves us we are blessed. Lord, my prayer is that you continue to mold my heart so I will learn how to love like you.
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NLT
One question I ask both my girls each night at the dinner table is "How did you show love and kindness to someone." the main reason I ask this is so they will become more aware of there actions,plus they always turn around and ask me....so it keeps me accountable as well.
Go show love and kindness!

Blessing 32: God's Love
Seeing that February is all about Valentines Day and love, I thought I would make some of my thankful post about love.
The first being God's love for us. I think it is hard for us to even wrap our minds around just how much God loves us, but to me the one true, most purest forms of that love he showed us was through His son Jesus.
God wanted his creation to understand Him, to know Him and to love Him. But his creation has turned their backs on him, committed sin and had done evil. In sending Jesus to us, it was a way for us to see what God like, to learn how to be better, how to love each other, how to serve each other and most importantly how we can forever be with God.
Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross for all us, he took on all of our past, present and future sin, he hung there in pain and in agony so that those of us who chose to believe He is the one and only son of God could then spend eternity with Him in heaven.
We can say we believe in God and that we love God, but unless we 100% believe that God sent His son for us and that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the light, then we cannot and will not enter heaven's gates.
I am so thankful and blessed that 1. God loves me this much, 2. Jesus was will to take on it all for me 3. that I know beyond any doubt where I will be spending eternity.
For God so loved the world, that he gave is one and only son and whoever believes in Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Side note on John 3:16: I read the other day that when Tim Tebow had John 3:16 under his eyes for one of his games that over 92 million people googled John 3:16. That is pretty amazing to me that 92 million people read this verse for the first time, but what is even more amazing or maybe even scary is that there was 92 million people who had to google this to know what it was. To me this is a pretty known bible verse, even for those who don't go to church or maybe haven't even really heard much of the bible. It just goes to so how many people still need to heard about God's love.
